Learning Objectives

1. Understand the purpose and scope of ISO 8583 in financial transaction processing.
2. Analyze the structure of ISO 8583 messages, including message types, fields, message formatting techniques, and data elements.
3. Learn how to interpret and construct ISO 8583 messages for various financial transactions.
4. Identify the roles of primary and secondary bitmaps in message processing.
5. Understand the security mechanisms embedded in ISO 8583 for ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
6. Explore the practical application of ISO 8583 in real-world payment systems, such as ATMs and point-of-sale (POS) networks.

Examination Details

• Candidates will be assessed by the following method:
  • Proctured Written examination This will be at the end of the course.
• The duration of the written exam is 120 minutes (2hrs).
• Minimum passing criteria is 70% in the online examination.

Certification

• Candidates who scores 70% and above in the written examination will be issued an SandBP certificate.
• In case you do not meet the pass mark, you can retake the exam for FREE after the first attempt while subsequent retakes would come at a cost.
